Mahindra Research Valley to Invest ₹196 Crore in Advanced R&D Expansion

Chennai: Mahindra Research Valley (MRV), the flagship R&D hub of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), has announced the expansion of its Advanced Research & Development Centre along with additional testing facilities at its Chennai campus.

The move involves a fresh investment of approximately ₹196 crore and is aimed at strengthening the company’s engineering and testing capabilities while reinforcing its commitment to Make in India.

The expansion of Mahindra Research Valley marks a significant step in enhancing research and development infrastructure in the region.

The new investment will bolster advanced vehicle design, product engineering, and future technology development capabilities.

Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M K Stalin, along with the Minister for Industries, Investment Promotions and Commerce, T R B Rajaa, graced the ground-breaking ceremony held in Chennai.

The expanded facility is expected to be operational within this calendar year.

Mahindra Research Valley Expansion to Boost Advanced Engineering and Testing Capabilities

Mahindra is committing approximately ₹196 crore towards augmenting MRV’s capabilities to support next-generation platforms across multiple vehicle segments.

The Advanced Research & Development Centre and new testing infrastructure are designed to provide enhanced engineering solutions aligned with evolving automotive technologies.

Once fully operational, the expanded facility is projected to create employment opportunities for around 2,000 additional skilled professionals across engineering, research, and technical roles.

Currently, Mahindra Research Valley employs 5,000 skilled professionals at its 125-acre campus in Chennai.

The expansion further strengthens Chennai’s position as a strategic hub for automotive research, innovation, and advanced mobility solutions.
